Rize Stories: Saving to Become a Homeowner

In our first (of many to come!) featured member post, we’re featuring Casey Nicole, who hails from South Carolina. She took a bit of time to tell us about her savings goals and swimming with sharks! We’ll let her take it from here.

Tell us a bit about yourself.

I’m a 29 year old, single mother from South Carolina. I’ve lived a little bit of everywhere, however, and I absolutely love to travel. I work in ophthalmology and I like play just as hard as I work. That’s where Rize comes in. Saving smart means I can budget “play money” and know that I’m still saving for what counts.

What are you saving for?

Right now, my first priority is becoming a home owner. Don’t get me wrong! I’ll still be traveling in the meantime, but owning a home is going to be a huge step for my daughter and I.

What’s the craziest thing on your bucket list?

I want to go swimming with sharks. I have a ridiculous fear of them, so I figure, that’s something that I eventually need to make happen… Just so I don’t feel like a chicken!

If you could either go back in time 5 years OR get $100,000 now, which would you choose and why?

I would definitely choose to get the one hundred grand! I have no – I repeat – NO desire to relive the last five years of my life! I’ve worked so hard to get where I am financially, career-wise, etc. Getting $100,000 would only hasten my dreams becoming reality!

I think that people need to realize that Rize doesn’t have to be so serious! It’s serious for me, but for someone else it might just be “hey I want a new tattoo, let’s save for that!”. Rize is what YOU need to it be. Whether that’s helping you step into a future goal or just wanting to go to a really nice dinner for your anniversary.

Stay in touch

Done! We'll be seeing ya.
